Can you give us an overview of ASHP as an organization?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A pharmacy association made up of primarily health system pharmacists and ambulatory care pharmacists\n<ul>\n<li>Has about 40,000 members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>ASHP has a staff of 200 people\n<ul>\n<li>65 pharmacists on staff<\/li>\n<li>Openings all throughout the year posted in their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ashp.org\/menu\/AboutUs\/ASHP-Careers\" target=\"_blank\">job listings<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Most schools have a student ASHP group<\/li>\n<li>Host an annual Midyear Meeting\n<ul>\n<li>Prime place to make contacts for residency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. What are pharmacists doing at ASHP?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ASHP is a very large publisher\n<ul>\n<li>In addition to their journal, they have a formulary service and publish many books<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Continuing Education services<\/li>\n<li>Legislative pharmacy opportunities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Are there any other jobs\/positions at ASHP that you would like to highlight?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Resurrected an executive residency program\n<ul>\n<li>Candidates would be new graduates interested in exploring association management<\/li>\n<li>Residents will have the opportunity to shadow all of the executive leadership and senior leadership teams at ASHP<\/li>\n<li>Residents will often find their way onto the staff of ASHP after completion of residency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. What advice would you give to people who are interested in learning more or pursuing a path that you highlighted?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Become a student member of ASHP<\/li>\n<li>Look into the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amcp.org\/amcp-foundation\/internship\/\" target=\"_blank\">internships <\/a>available through the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amcp.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Academy of Managed Care
